Books for 'Marx in London' Scottish Opera.

Scottish Opera, designed by Janis Thavoris. Books made in collaboration with Petra Crace (lead) and Eva Barrett Mansfield. We cut polystyrene blocks to a variety of sizes before covering with canvas backed by grey card. Texturing agent was added to the paint so we could brush the page detail in before dark washes were added. Gold details added at the end. Books all glued together in specific order to match model box. The books were made as a border around the Mezzanine.
